Interfaith Community Services needs funds for furnishings
Interfaith Community Services reached its goal of $440,000 in donations, enabling the nonprofit organization to nearly double the size of its offices at 2820 W. Ina Road.
Groundbreaking on the organization′s new 1,800-square-foot Caregiving Services Wing will be on Nov. 1, said Bonnie Kampa, executive director.
Construction will start shortly after, she said. The wing will contain a conference room, five offices, a work room and a break area.
But the fundraising isn′t over yet.
The organization hopes to raise another $100,000 to furnish the new building and upgrade the old one, Kampa said.
Improvements will include installing new carpet, improving the heating and air condition systems, making the building more energy efficient and putting up better signs, she said. Landscaping work will be done around both buildings.
Founded in 1985, Interfaith Community Services helps seniors, the disabled and people in financial crisis.
Its services and programs include a food bank, delivering meals and giving emergency financial assistance to people who need help paying for rent, utilities, prescriptions or other necessities.
