VOLUNTEER
NEWS

Keep up to date on current volunteer issues at ICS and learn how your skills might be useful.

Interfaith Community Services is constantly expanding our services. You may have skills or resources that fit our needs. Please check this area periodically to see what is happening. And remember, Volunteers are the Heart of ICS.

1.  Come join us in Development...We have an on-going need for a computer whiz to take care of all the myriad details of the We Care Golf tournament in November (commitment of at least once a month until September, and then a lot of meetings happen!).  Secondly, we are seeking folks who are good at fundraising, marketing, e-commerce, and auction sites on the internet.  We offer friendly staff, lots of good humor and a chance to help us further provide for those less fortunate.

2. Caring Drivers Needed: Join our team of drivers making a world of difference. Drive senior neighbors to medical appointments or grocery shopping. Depending on your unique schedule, transport someone when you are available Monday –Friday for about 3 hours. ICS offers mileage reimbursement for transportation volunteers. Specific needs are in zip codes of 85705, 11, 12, 16, and 19. Training provided.

3. Mobile Meals Route Coordinators Needed: Mobile Meals route coordinators make sure that a particular route is always covered by a volunteer by calling substitute drivers when needed. This can be done from home and only takes a few hours a week. Training provided.

4. Mobile Meals Drivers Needed:  Find fulfillment and appreciation as you deliver nutritious meals to elderly and disabled neighbors. Deliveries are done between 10:30 am and 1:00 pm every weekday. The majority of deliveries are in the 85705, 04, and 41 zip codes. ICS offers mileage reimbursement for Mobile Meals volunteers. Training provided.

5. Office Volunteers Needed: Volunteers are needed to answer phones, greet visitors, help with office projects, and use the computer in several parts of the ICS office. Greatest needs are in the Caregiving office and at the Front Desk. The office is open from 9:00am-4:00pm, shifts available in the morning and afternoon. Training provided.

6. Handy Helpers Needed: As the monsoons end, we all need to clean up and repair our homes and yards. Our senior and disabled neighbors have a hard time with this part of the season. ICS Handy Helpers do small home maintenance projects for seniors and disabled individuals. Flexible schedules. These projects can be done in pairs or groups. Training provided.
