Do you love pets? Support Cody’s Friends in March Muttness!
If you have ever visited or volunteered at an ICS food bank, you know that not only do we distribute food to fill hungry human stomachs, but we also distribute dog and cat food to feed our clients’ furry family members.
What you may not know is that 100% of the pet food we distribute at ICS is donated by our community partners at Cody’s Friends.
For a little backstory, Cody’s Friends began in 2011 after Cody, then a 5th grader, was inspired by a report he wrote on President John F. Kennedy. He asked his mom if he could start a charity to help save animals. Now, 10 years later, Cody’s Friends is a lifesaver to pets and their people living in poverty.
Each month Cody’s Friends donates over 22,000 pounds of pet food and supplies throughout the state of Arizona to animal shelters, 48 food banks, soup kitchens, Veterans, and other service organizations.
At ICS we are both inspired and grateful for this partnership that allows us to fill a different kind of food need, and we would like to support Cody’s Friends in their efforts to continue to feed pets in need.
One way we can do this is through March Muttness, sponsored by The Humane Society of Southern Arizona!
Beginning at 9 a.m. on March 14, any donations Cody’s Friends receives will help to keep them in the game and qualify them to advance to the next bracket of March Muttness. Donations close on March 16, and we hope to see Cody’s Friends in the BIG GAME!
