Strut for Success benefiting Single Mom Scholars
Presented by
A fashion show benefiting Interfaith Community Services Single Mom Scholars in their pursuit of a college education.
On January 26, 2020, single mom college students and their children will “strut their stuff” while Emcee Edmund Marquez highlights their journey toward success and college graduation. This event benefits the Single Moms Scholars Program at ICS and gives donors and attendees an opportunity to directly hear the stories of the women currently in the program and the effect it has had on their lives and the lives of their children. There will be a fashion show and plenty of food and drinks. This is a great opportunity for female-owned businesses to engage with women and men consumers while supporting an economic empowerment program that is changing the lives of our community’s women and children.
Single Mom Scholars is a 2Generation approach to breaking the cycle of poverty. Through its comprehensive scholarship program, low-income single moms are empowered to earn a college degree and establish a career while their children are given the opportunity to gain social capital, build leadership skills and improve academic performance.
