Client Navigator: assist the Centralized Intake Coordinator by providing compassionate and professional phone support to clients calling to request services or community resource information
Northwest Front Desk Reception: answer phones, greet guests in the lobby and assess their needs, handle any items that need to be picked up or dropped off, and provide minimal administrative support to other departments as needed
Central Front Desk Reception: answer phones, greet guests in the lobby and assess their needs, handle any items that need to be picked up or dropped off, and provide minimal administrative support to other departments as needed
Office Assistant, Senior Services: The Senior Services Program Assistant is an in-office position that assists with daily Senior Services programs tasks and operations.
In-Home Evaluator: schedule and conduct in-home evaluations for new ICS recipients to determine which services are needed
Survey Taker: call participants on the phone and enter response data into ETO database system
Survey Taker, AmeriCorps: call participants on the phone with specific survey questions and enter response data into ETO database system
Transportation Driver: drive participants in personal vehicle to ICS-approved destinations and back to their homes
Transportation Scheduler: work at an ICS office answering incoming calls with ride requests; make calls to volunteer drivers
Transportation Van Driver: drive the ICS Care-A-Van to take one or more participants to the grocery store or medical appointments
Transportation Van with Lift: drive the ICS wheelchair van to the grocery store or medical appointments
Business Helper: help recipients with vision impairments to open mail, balance checkbook, pay bills, organize paperwork, and more as requested
Companion Sitting: sit with a participant in their home, giving the primary caregiver a chance to leave and attend to their personal needs
Friendly Phoning: call a participant 1-4 times a month to chat and provide vital social interaction
Friendly Visiting: visit with a participant in their home to provide vital social contact while chatting, reading aloud, playing card or board games, watching television, etc.
Home Repairs: help with basic home maintenance and minor repairs in participants’ homes
Wellness Checks: call participants Monday through Friday between 8-10 a.m. brief morning wellness check-ins
Yard Work: perform basic yard work tasks like pulling weeds and raking leaves
Faith Council Assistant: provide support on the day of Faith Council meetings with setup, cleanup, and other needs
ICS Ambassador: represent ICS at community events, sharing up-to-date information on programs, services, and volunteer opportunities
Gifts of Love: aid in contacting clients, gift distribution/receiving, and general support for the Gifts of Love event
Food Distributor: greet clients at Mobile Food Bank distribution sites and place food in their vehicles
Food Packer: prepare food bags at the ICS Eastside location for distribution through the Mobile Food Bank
Link2Feed Computer Input: enter client information into the online database at various Mobile Food Bank distribution sites
Link2Feed Data Input, Eastside: enter client information into the online database at the ICS Eastside location
Van Driver, Grocery Rescue: drive the ICS refrigerated van to nearby grocery stores to pick up donated food
Food Van Driver, Thursdays: drive the ICS refrigerated van to pick up frozen meals at Caridad Community Kitchen
Food Box Delivery Route Driver: pick up boxes of food from the Northwest Food Bank and deliver them to participants on a route
Frozen Food Packer: organize and pack frozen meals in preparation for driver pickup
Frozen Food Route Driver: deliver frozen meals to homebound participants on Thursdays
Route Driver: deliver fresh meals to ICS participants in the northwest Tucson area
Route Driver, Substitute: occasionally fill in when regular route drivers are unavailable
Check-in Runner: greet client and take ID, deliver it to the check-in desk, return ID to client with a food ticket
Donation Receiving: staff Food Bank during non-distribution hours to receive donations
Driver, Food Collection Events: drive ICS van to food drives/collection events to receive food donations and transport them to the Northwest Food Bank
Evening Volunteer: perform various tasks during food distribution hours on Tuesday or Thursday evenings
Food Bank Client Intake: enter client information in database and provide appropriate food ticket (training required)
Inside Packer: perform various indoor tasks during food distribution hours
Loader: load boxes and bags of food into recipients’ vehicles
Morning Driver: drive the ICS van to pick up donated food from designated locations
Setup Volunteer: bag bread, sort food, pack bags, and other preparation before food distribution begins
Traffic Monitor: directs incoming traffic to appropriate lane to facilitate traffic flow
Childcare: supervise children ages 1-10+ indoors and outdoors while their mothers attend the monthly Single Mom Scholars meeting
RESET Presenter: provide a one-hour presentation on life skill topic(s) of which you have professional knowledge to a small group of ICS RESET participants (ICS Central office)
SMS Child Program Developer: the SMS Child Program Developer leads fun and educational activities for the children of our SMS program.
Self-Sufficiency Coaching: participate in a 6-month structured program that matches small groups of allies with similar numbers of participants
Workforce Development: assist clients with job readiness soft skills such as resume and cover letter writing, career aptitude testing, and interview preparedness
Repair Person: perform small repair and maintenance tasks at the Central office, and occasionally at the Eastside location
Training for VITA positions is provided by United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona
Greeter: check in clients and make sure they have necessary paperwork
Tax Preparer: online data entry of clients’ tax information
