ICS Northwest Expansion
Phase 2 of the ICS Northwest expansion is underway! Parking is being expanded and food distribution drive-through improved to meet the growing needs of the Northwest Food Bank.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Northwest Food Bank operated on a stop-and-shop model. Clients came inside the Food Bank and filled a shopping cart with the items they needed. During COVID, food distribution was transitioned to a drive-through model for the safety of volunteers and clients. This adjustment has been very successful for more than four years, allowing ICS to feed more people in need than ever before.
However, as need increases, so does the traffic in the ICS parking lot. Phase 2 of the expansion will create a new parking lot on the south side of the ICS Office and Food Bank buildings for staff and volunteers. The existing north parking lot will be dedicated to food distribution, with a new permanent awning over the food loading doors. Barker Contracting, Inc. is the general contractor performing the work.
