What Makes an Ideal ICS Volunteer?

  • You are at least 18 years of age (children under 18 can volunteer with an adult).
  • You are able to volunteer weekdays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. That’s when our recipients like to get their errands done and when we utilize volunteers, if needed, who work in our offices. The ICS Food Bank has Saturday hours from 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for those who can only volunteer on a weekend, but this opportunity is very limited.
  • You have your own car, or have access to a car, if you wish to drive on our behalf. You must also have no more than 2 moving violations within a 3-year period.
  • You have the ability to pass a criminal background check and a motor vehicle report on your name. We take this extra precaution to ensure that the senior citizens, disabled and financial assistance recipients whom we serve are being assisted by volunteers who have passed a background check and/or are considered safe drivers.
